The Raipur Dhanbad Expressway (NH / EC-07), a part of the ambitious Raipur Dhanbad Economic Corridor, is currently under construction. This 707 km long, four-lane access-controlled expressway will cut across Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand, transforming connectivity across central and eastern India.
Strategically designed under the Bharatmala Pariyojana, this expressway will promote industrialization in the region by providing faster connectivity to coal reserves, mining zones, and industrial hubs across Raipur, Bilaspur, Korba, Jashpur, Ranchi, Bokaro, and Dhanbad.
It will reduce travel time between Raipur and Dhanbad from 16 hours to just 9 hours, while also cutting the distance down from 750 km to 707 km. The corridor will be developed as a mix of greenfield and brownfield stretches — with the Raipur–Bilaspur section upgraded to a six-lane brownfield expressway, while the rest will be developed as new greenfield alignments.
